Number and structure of Union Parishad

There are 52 unions in Natore district. Of them, seven were injured in Natore Sadar upazila, 12 in Singra upazila, 6 in Gurdaspur upazila, 7 in Baraigram upazila, 10 in Lalpur upazila, 5 in Bagatipara upazila and 5 unions in Naldanga upazila. Union Council formed consisting of 12 people, including 1 chairman and 3 women members of reserved seats.

In the light of Local Government (Union Council) Ordinance, 2008

1. The main functions of the Union Parishad are as follows
(A) Administration and Establishment matters
(B) Public order protection
(C) Public welfare related services and
(D) Planning and implementation of local economic and social development related schemes
2. The functions of the council are based on the main functions mentioned in sub-section (1) * in the second schedule.
(1) Five-day and various periodic development plans.
(Ii) Development, conservation and maintenance of rural infrastructure.
(3) Implementation of education, health, family planning related activities.
(4) Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock and Other Economic Development Programs.
(5) To take necessary actions in the control of epidemic and disaster management.
(6) Assessment and collection of taxes, fees, tolls, fees etc.
(7) To resolve family disputes, perform necessary programs related to women and children's welfare.
(8) To take necessary initiatives and cooperation in the activities of sports, social development, culture etc.
(9) Take necessary measures for the development and conservation of the environment.
(10) To maintain law and order, to perform the duties of the government and to take necessary actions.
(11) Birth and death registration.
(12) Protecting public places, open spaces, parks and playgrounds.
(13) Light lamps in the streets and public places of the Union Parishad
(14) Planting and preserving and protecting tree and theft and destruction
(15) Maintenance and management of graveyards, cremation grounds, public meeting places and other government property.
(16) Prevention of prohibition of entry into the public roads, highways and public places, and to stop the causes and causes of these places.

(35) To take measures for the safety, comfort or convenience of the residents of the union.
(36) Introducing and encouraging e-governance.
(37) Expansion of cooperation with other organizations engaged in a similar task like Union Parishad.
(38) The responsibilities imposed by the government from time to time.
